Our Pastor
Brinda and I were married June 6, 1969. I surrendered to the ministry in 1976 and we started preparing for that call. Brinda and I both have master degrees, she from Arkansas Sate University and I from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We believe that a call from God is a call to prepare.
I have been pastor of Corners Chapel Baptist Church since October 8, 2006. In these years we have grown to love and appreciate the membership of Corners Chapel. It is our privilege to serve together with you.
Ephesians Chapter 2:8 says "for by grace are you saved through faith: and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God". In Jesus we have been offered God's free gift of eternal life by his death on the cross, his burial and resurrection from the dead. God's grace, which is his unmerited favor, is offered to all who will by faith receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Our Church
Corners Chapel Baptist Church is a "small, country" church with Jesus as the head of our church. We have a traditional service where the word of God, Heaven is real and Hell is hot, is preached. We sing from the Baptist Hymnal and have an occasional music special of contemporary or Southern Gospel music. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and a member of the Trinity Baptist Association. We have four services a week. Sunday morning Sunday School followed by worship service. Sunday night bible study and Wednesday night bible study.
